What is Real Ministry?

The function, the service, the work in a true ministry is always a team effort.  In the 1st letter to the Corinthians Chapters 12 and 13 St Paul emphasised that all members in the body have important roles through the gifts of the Holy Spirit for the edification of the Church.  Christian ministry ought to be a squad’s attempt because as a matter of fact no individual alone can do all that the apostles did.   The various ministries in our Community consider the needs of others in receiving the Christian “message.”

Scriptures teach us several principles for ministry, namely finding common ground with those we aim to evangelise, avoiding a know-it-all attitude,  making others feel accepted, be sensitive to their needs and concerns and above all look for opportunities to tell everyone about Christ Jesus.  These principles are just as valid to us as they were when they were written.

True ministry involves hard work, preparation and dedication.  Beyond any doubt an important factor is that each individual spends time alone with God in prayer and each member strives to continue to study God’s Word, learn and grow into a deeper Christian maturity.
