The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (John 4:9)

We can learn a lot about effective witnessing by examining our Lord’s encounter with the woman at the well.  He broke all social protocol by talking to this Samaritan woman.  Later, he had a perfect opportunity to condemn her sinful lifestyle, but He did not.  Probably we would have condemned her because we have the mistaken idea that if we do not condemn we will be condoning it.  We have to learn to find something to compliment.  When we share our faith, remember the effectiveness of giving a compliment and avoiding condemnation.

“Lord, help me show compassion to a world that is lost in sin.”

Loving the lost is the first step in leading them to Christ.

A friend loves at all times. (Proverbs 17:17)

There are 24 hours in a day, and no matter how frantically we try it is impossible to stretch them into 25.  It is not a matter of how to increase time but how to use it more wisely.  There are various tasks that no matter what have to be done (working, eating, sleeping, etc.), but are we giving enough time to relationships. According to a well known author friendships are conductive to our well-being, and if investing time in strengthening our friendships is so essential, what about our relationship with Jesus?  He said to Hid disciples, “No longer do I call you servants,   but I have called you friends” (John 15:15)

“Lord, Your friendship never ends; help me spend more time with Your Son Jesus.”

Time is a friend when you use it to strengthen your friendship with Jesus!

Once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him. (Hebrews 5:9)

O

Our Lord Jesus Christ, truly became “the author of eternal salvation”.  St. Paul explained that Christ is our High Priest forever, interceding continually before God’s throne on our behalf. As God in the flesh, He alone could become our substitute and offer Himself as a sacrifice for sins “once for all”. No other human being is able to take “this honour for himself.”  Many have claimed to be the Messiah, but Jesus Christ died on Calvary’s cross for you and me.  Are you trusting in the crucified and risen saviour?  If not do so today!

“Lord, help me see that there is no other way but Your way.

Only God’s gift can erase man’s guilt.
